I have been working as a storyboard artist and illustrator for over 10 years. I specialize in aiding clients to visualize and render their concepts for presentation. I have a broad range of clients in Film/television, advertising and event production (see client list). My focus has been in drawing shooting boards for commercial directors. The turn-arounds are tight and judging from my knowledge about the industry I consider myself to be on the faster side of the storyboard art world. All storyboard samples you will see on this site have not been redrawn for promotional purpose.

My interest in storyboarding developed through my interest in filmmaking. Because filmmaking is a process where you will be challenged to find a balance between aesthetics and logistics, storyboarding seemed to me the best way compose a vision before the step into that unknown chaos of filmmaking. As writing, storyboarding is a cognitive process that has virtually limitless possibilities of where your vision can go.

A few years after attending S.V.A. film program, I decided to pursue a career in storyboarding while working as a PA on the movie "Basquiat." With an ability to draw, and the idea that storyboarding would be the best doorway into the visualisation process in developing a film, I found a door that opened me up to a whole new world of illustration.

What I learned is that storyboard artists are good illustrators. And good illustrators are like magicians. They use many different techniques and tools to achieve the final product. Non-photo blue pencils, light boxes, projectors and so on, are all used by them. But, "What does it take to get what you(my client) see?" is the most important question for me as a storyboard artist.  Storyboarding is about communicating ideas visually. Through my experience I've learned that clients most often try to communicate different ideas differently; some are more intersted in the emotion of the characters, others are more interested in the visual angles. The difference in the ideas determine how I will work.

The focus of my Direction:

I enjoy drawing fast and loose, and I have tried to develop my style around these two attributes. Storyboarding in my experience is not about "eye candy." The purpose of the storyboard is to communicate visual ideas with versatility and the understanding that the finished product can be opened to change. My interest as a storyboard artist is to achieve this balance between a tight finnished drawing with a feeling of flexibility that is always executed in good time.
